This is the result of lack of dedicated left turning light and drivers turning right off of Crowchild to make a U turn to head eastbound on 5th Ave NW instead of using left turning lane on Crowchild. The back up of cars can lead to waiting for multiple lights and drivers making dangerous left turns between oncoming traffic.
