On the SW corner of 5Ave and Crowchild trail NW there is a large (16-24" across) man-made hole with a metal rim beside the sidewalk. It looks like there might have been a cover at one point but it is now open and big enough for a small child to seriously hurt themselves if they fell in. Or, if an adult was walking across the grass and not looking they might also trip and fall. I was walking across the grass talking to someone and accidentally stepped in to it.
