Traffic Signal Timing Inquiry at 4513 Stanley Rd SW
I just had to wait in the sleet and wind, on a 1.5m monowalk next to 60kph (posted) traffic for 1m54s from the time I hit the beg button to cross MacLeod Trail until the signal changed. If that's not a middle finger to people walking and taking transit, I don't know what is. Please contact me to discuss. First, I'd like an apology for being treated like a second class citizen because I happened to be walking. Second, I'd like this signal to be adjusted in order to be more responsive to people walking and taking transit (eg walking to the bus stop). Policy (eg CTP, Step Forward, etc) all suggest that the priority is encouraging and supporting walking and cycling, yet here we are. I can only imagine that TAC and AASHTO and other standards frown upon monowalks next to 60kph traffic and off-peak pedestrian wait times in excess of 114s. Thank you in advance for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
